Superintendent
Overview
The Department of Educational Leadership offers two programs of study leading to the Education Doctorate (EdD) in educational leadership:
- Superintendent/district-level leadership option
- General school leadership option
The superintendent program is designed for leaders in education desiring career positions as superintendents or district-level leaders. Completion of the program provides graduates the opportunity to lead public school districts in both Illinois and Missouri.
Program Format
- Flexible, blended/hybrid format
- Typically takes two years to complete
Students are required to meet on campus one evening per week while also completing assignments online for the first four semesters of the program.The final two semesters are primarily independent study.
